Scent Profile:  Top Notes of Citrus and Juniper open to middle notes of Plum, Black Cherry and Red Currant, with luscious base notes of Cypress, Amber, Sugar, Light Musk and Oak.

The Inspiration:  Seeing the Nutcracker at the Cleveland Playhouse with my family stands out as a hallmark of Family Christmas rituals in my memory. My sisters and I would wear our new Christmas dresses and formal wool coats.  Dad would yell at one or more of us about proper attire in public, and eventually we would assemble in the minivan for the 45 minute ride up to Cleveland.  We always had dinner at the Sweetwater’s Café, and later Sweetwaters’ Cafe Sausalito, before the show.  I felt so grown up, eating at a fancy restaurant and seeing a ballet in a city!  

I’ve seen the Nutcracker more times than I can count.  I like Act I best because the characters are relatable, but my favorite part is the Waltz of the Snowflakes.  All those dancers acting in coordinated unison really do embody the beauty of gently falling crystalline snow.  I never tire of that dance.  Sorry Act II. 

My daughter had the honor of being part of the cast of the Pittsburgh Ballet Theater Company’s production of the Nutcracker for several years.  If you’ve ever been to this annual performance, the little toy soldiers and the mice at the end of Act I are ballet students – support the ballet school and buy your tickets now (and no, I’m not getting a commission for this shameless plug).   

Sugared Plum, a sophisticated and complex layered scent, is good for dressing up and feeling fancy.  Like going to the Theater fancy.

Materials

FRAGRANCE - Across our product lines, our premium fragrance oils are:

WAXES - Our pillar wax is 100 percent soy wax made from soybean oil grown in the USA.  We add UV inhibitor to prevent candles from fading due to ultraviolet light exposure. 

WICKS - We use cotton wicks with a paper core specifically designed for the waxes used in our candle lines. Wicks are dipped in a natural wax by the manufacturer for stabilization. 

Dimensions

Our standard pillar is 3 inches in diameter and is available in three heights:

  • 3 inches wide x 3.5 inches tall, weighs about 12.5 ounces (350 g)
  • 3 inches wide x 4.5 inches tall, weighs about 15.75 ounces (450 g)
  • 3 inches wide x 6.5 inches tall, weighs about 22.75 ounces (650 g)

Care information

For Standard Pillar Candles (3-inch diameter columns): 

  • Trim wick to 1/8 - 1/4 inch each time before lighting
  • Burn the candle for 3-4 hours during the first burn
  • For best results, burn candle no more than 4 hours each session
  • Avoid placing your candle near drafts
  • Place pillar on a stable heat proof candle plate and remove nearby flammable materials before lighting your candle
  • Never leave the pillar candle unattended
  • Keep children and pets away from open flames
  • Keep the candle at least 4 inches from other candles

For Dimensional Pillar Candles:

  • Trim wick to 1/8 - 1/4 inch each time before lighting

  • Place pillar on a stable heat proof candle plate and remove nearby flammable materials before lighting your pillar candle
