Scent Profile:  Sunny top notes of Heliotrope, Bergamot and Orange Peel open to middle notes of Salt Spray, Pink Pepper, Ylang-Ylang and Coconut Milk. Subtle aquatic base notes of Musk, Ocean Air, and Cedar complete this sunkissed scent. 

The Inspiration:  Our vacation to Greece last summer (2022) was one of the best trips our family has taken.  In the middle of our historical adventures, we took a weekend to just relax without any specific plans on the laid-back island of Zakynthos.  We wanted to see the famous Shipwreck Beach and found the walkway that leads down to the isolated beach, but were dismayed to learn that the path had been permanently closed and now the only way to visit was by boat.  And many boats were already there.  Not to fear, our intrepid family decided that Zakynthos has many beaches, and many that are just as beautiful and not as well known as Shipwreck Beach, so we began our search for the perfect beach.  

We visited four beaches in total that day, driving through uninhabited maritime forestlands, rocky cliffside roads, through tiny villages, and stopping whimsically at roadside stands to buy honey and freshly dried oregano.  We swam at three of these beaches and we were shocked at how buoyant we were.  Literally, zero effort was needed to remain afloat. We would swim for a while, marvel at the clear, blue waters and white cliffs, and dry in the sun for a few minutes.  Then we would put our clothes back on and explore the maps and the roadways for the next cove-side hidden beach.  We had some harrowing drives down stony cliffside roads, relaxing swims, the best lunch stop in the middle of nowhere, and finished the day with an alfresco sunset meal.  

Ionian Sea is a scent that recalls the best beach day - unstructured, full of exploration, azure blue waters, salty air, and sundrenched wonder. Light this candle anytime you need a mental break from overplanning or the doldrums. 

Fragrance used in this wax melt contains naturally occurring Myrcene (California Prop 65).
